As is the case with an outline list, you need to define a list and then create a set of paragraph styles that reference that list. Defining lists allows you to have multiple lists in a document that don’t interfere with each other. For example, you could create multi-level headings, an outline, and separate lists of tables and figures within the same document, all of which use a separate numbering sequence.

You can define a section prefix to label section pages automatically. For example, if you specify A– for Section Prefix on page 16 of a document and include the section prefix, the page will appear in the table of contents or index as A–16. Text you type for a section marker appears when you choose Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Section Marker.
To enter your text, click the text box in the template. To add a new text box, click the Add Text Box button from the menu on the left. Move your text boxes by clicking on the edge of the box and dragging it to just the right spot.
Is there a way to sync callout numbers to correspond with note numbers. When I add or delete notes in my drawings it takes to much time to update the callout number in the drawings. I need to figure out a way for the note and corresponding callout to change at the same time.
Defined lists are often used to track paragraphs for numbering purposes. When you create a paragraph style for numbering, you can assign the style to a defined list, and paragraphs are numbered in that style according to where they appear in the defined list. The first paragraph to appear is given number 1 (“Table 1”), for example, and the next paragraph is given number 2 (“Table 2”), even if it appears several pages later. Because both paragraphs belong to the same defined list, they can be numbered consecutively no matter how far apart they are in the document or book.
The following process occurs every time that a sequence object is requested to generate the sequential numbering value for the CACHE option if there are unused values available in the in-memory cache for the sequence object.
You may already be done, but my student also need table and figure numbering. In her document, the tables and figures only appear after Subhead 2s, so the formatting needs to look like this for her Table titles:
Right now it is just one page, so I am guessing I would need to duplicate the page X amount of times to get up to the number I want. In the past I have just printed the one page multiple times but then I would think this way I would get several copies with codes 1001 – 1010.
If you need to re-order the items, select all the text, copy and paste it into the temporary frame, re-order, and copy/paste back into the linked frames. TIP: Re-assign the original paragraph style in the temporary frame so that all your items are in that one frame.

If you know in advance that you need outline numbering for your paragraphs, you will want to choose the correct format from the Bullets and Numbering dialog box. Applying one of the preset formats to a paragraph or paragraphs that are already bulleted or numbered applies it to the entire list.
