The four templates with automatic serial numbering are quite nice and one of them will most likely be suitable for your needs. You can edit them as well. If you’re going to do that, save the original template separately. Doing so will give you a fresh template, in case you need one.

Can anyone help with a solution for sequential form numbering either via nintex forms or workflow. In order to meet a client specification I’m looking to create multiple sets of sequentially numbered forms within a list.

My page numbers all appear onscreen in my document where they should be, but they do not appear when I print the pages. Am using the same template as I did with a document I prepared a couple of months ago and did not have this problem when I printed all the pages in that document. The master page thing is already a done deal.

If you want numbered headings to be underlined, but do not want a line under the number, it can be difficult if you don’t know how it works. The addition of the \r1 switch causes Word to start the sequence counter over at 1. You would use this whenever you wanted to start a new list, and use the regular field for the rest of your numbered items. * Place the insertion point at the beginning of the Number field, choose Insert Number Placeholder > Level 1 (or just type ^1), and then insert a period. ^1.^#.^m means the first level (1) will be followed by a period, which will be followed by the current level number (2), which will be followed by a period, which will be followed by an em space.

To include numbering prefixes from higher levels, enter text or click at the start of the Number box and choose Insert Number Placeholder and then select a Level option (for example, Level 1), or enter ^ and then the list level (for example, enter ^1). In a list with first levels numbered 1, 2, 3, and so on, and second levels numbered a, b, c, and so on, including the first-level prefix in the second level renders second-level numbers as 1a, 1b, 1c; 2a, 2b, 2c; 3a, 3b, 3c.

  1. Each circle will need to have a number. They will be numbered sequentially from 4000 – 4499.  This should work out to a total of 41.6 (42) pages. 4000 – 4011 on page 1, 4012 – 4023 on page 2, etc. etc.
