I’ve also been using NumberPress for about a year and it is awesome. You can easily position numbers as many up per form and as many up on a sheet as you will ever need. Easily change font, color, point size, angle, number of digits and can even customize prefix-ex: instead of No. you can print ABC or a form number. It also does variable data (I’ve only used a couple of times).Took a little while to learn but is now a piece of cake.
You have 2 options depending on your needs. If your background image is the full 8 1/2″ x 11″ size, then you can simply go to Format>Background>Fill Effects (this may be different on newer versions of Word). This will insert an image behind the entire document. When printing, you will need to make sure the background printing checkbox is ticked. If you need to insert an image into each box, you will then need to use text boxes with no fill to place text over the images.
Can anyone please explain this mess? We had a perfectly good working picking ticket on version 7.5, which printed back ordered items, as no one’s inventory is perfect and the salesperson marks the picking ticket if they located the item, which purchasing would then need to adjust in order to allocate the order. 1. On the first hand, you need to initiate Microsoft Publisher. You can view a magnifying glass icon and you need to hit inside the little field which shows Available Templates page. Now you should type the Word ‘tickets’ and move your cursor towards the magnifying glass icon. Hit on it. Subsequently you need to evaluate and assess the ticket options in the Microsoft Publisher. After that you can double click on the desired template. For example if you want to open the raffle ticket template just double click on it for the Publisher to open it for you.

Getting Word to put a unique number on each raffle ticket is easy enough, but persuading Word to print out several uniquely-numbered raffle tickets per sheet of paper is very hard (I think it is impossible, actually. At least I couldn’t figure it out. UPDATE: I did figure it out. Instructions for printing raffle tickets using Microsoft Word are here.). And you don’t really want to have every raffle ticket use up a whole sheet of paper.
I’m creating raffle tickets for a company. I need to make sure numbers appear at the top and at the bottom of the ticket. Instead of going in and individually numbering each, is there any way I can achieve this just on the master page?
If you’re producing any kind of numbered items in-house that are multiple-up on a sheet where you need to control all the variables to meet your production needs, the autonumbering feature through numbered lists is the way to go! Just step and repeat away & InDesign will do all the work. No need to fool with a seperate “numbers” file or deal with a data merged document. I think it’s by far the best option for basic numbering.
The blog is pretty much step by step. Where it may not be that specific is, because, these are decisions the developer needs to make. For example, where to put the DMax expression is a matter of your workflow so I can’t tell you where to put it. I’ve given tips in the blog to help you decide. If you’d rather make your tickets from scratch, take advantage of Publisher’s “Insert” tab to add your own images or draw from the “Shapes” collection. Add the numbers in the same way, starting with Step 3.
I think the conclusion of all these Rube Goldberg approaches is that InDesign still isn’t ready for handling what is really a head-smacking-stupid-simple kind of numbering job — the kind of jobs computers were created for in the first place. My DOS word processor XyWrite — from AD 1987! — could do numbering stuff like this in no time and with no trouble. Quite ridiculous, really, when you consider the staggering graphics and typography capabilities inside InDesign — but the poor thing cannot really count.
Raffle tickets, benefit tickets, event tickets, documents and multi-part forms can easily be numbered using Number-Pro and your favorite third party application like InDesign, Corel Draw, Word or Publisher.
I to, have read through your directions while using both mac & pc platforms. I fail to find the “standard features” screen shots that you show above in either program. I too have spent several hours trying to get the sequential 3-up numbering as described. In trying to produce 300 tickets, I can get all of the first numbered position to be sequential over 100 pages. But, when moving down to the second or third ticket position on the page and setting up the numbering, I repeatedly find that I get a repeat of the first 100 numbers. I am lost as to how to proceed. Is there any other missing step or info that I am assumed to have knowledge about that was not mentioned above? If you know of some other site that might explain this process any better, please post. To use mail merge to create a batch of gift certificates or coupons with tracking numbers, you need to set up a data source that contains a column listing the tracking numbers. If you plan to add only the tracking numbers to your publications, create a data source for the tracking numbers. If you also plan to use mail merge to insert additional information into your publications, such as customer names or addresses, you can add the column of tracking numbers to a data source that also lists the name and address data that you want to use.
Do that again after the number on the third ticket on your page, BUT NOT THE FINAL TICKET ON THE PAGE. Because the final ticket is at the end of the page, and the number will increment automatically at the end of a page. If you put a ‘Next’ field there too, you’ll jump two numbers.

Am I the only individual here who is using CS3, and trying the method described, only to find that my version (5.0.2) for the mac doesn’t have the options anywhere that the author suggests? I have spent the past 2 hours trying to find the same screenshots the author has, only to become reall discouraged. Perhaps he is using a windows version that is setup differently?

Note: Keep in mind that what you are saving is not the set of coupons or gift certificates that you have printed. Rather, you are saving the publication with its connection to your data source and its placeholder fields. By saving the publication, you can quickly create another set of coupons or gift certificates when the need arises. The publication maintains the link to the data source that you connected it to so that you can jump ahead to the previewing step.
Click on the Help menu from an open Word document. The Help menu is usually listed in the very top toolbar and is the listing farthest to the right. When you left click on the Help icon, a drop-down menu will ask you to choose the type of help you are looking for.
We used to be able to setup the quick print option for picking tickets to allow bin sequence. Now when you pull up quick print setup bin sequenced is greyed out. If you http://thedailtrant.net is setup before and you attempt to change it, bin sequenced goes from available to non available (greyed out). We have never used the advanced picking setup option. We can do bin sequenced when printing the long way…Apparantly you have to have advanced picking setup to do this with quick print. In the documentation it says tools setup sales advanced picking setup….but it’s not there. Using Dynamics GP …
Now for the slightly hard bit. If you just try and complete your merge now, you’ll get several pages of tickets. Each page will have four tickets on it. But all tickets on any page will have the same number. Each page will have a different number, but all the tickets on that page will have the same number. That’s no good. You need each ticket to have a different number.
We recommend you create a print file (the default) and then print the tickets in batches from this saved file, so make sure you include all the tickets needed in this selection. This will only create the Print File, and will not go directly to the printer.
