Understood. What I have been working on is a mailmerge. What it does is you have 3 documents, the ticket template, the list of numbers wanted. Then when you merge them, the raffle ticket shows on each ticket, all with different numbers.

I am trying to create raffle tickets, 4 on a page with only a number on the stub. My problem is when I get to the print preview and change it to “multiple pages per sheet” it is just changing the number on the next page and not on the next ticket. I followed all the directions on adding the number to each ticket from the merge document (of course all the step by step information I can find is only for 2007 and NOT 2013 so guessing there is something wrong with what I am doing). When I go into the print screen it is also changing my paper from 8 1/2 x 11 to 11 x 17 and putting 8 on the page.
How do you go about sequentially numbering for your raffle tickets? You can do sequential numbering manually, or you can use Microsoft Excel in a mail-merge type of operation. If you’re not sure how to go about the mail-merge, the directions are above in the Template Design File section.
I am creating a file in inDesign for a client that is asking for numbered tickets. They’d like to be able to print a specific number for each ticket. I’ve read some of the older answers for similar questions that refer to Data Merge, but I’d prefer not to take that route if avoidable. What I’d ultimately like to do is create a space for the numbers to go, select the number of pages within the Print menu, and have the spaces populate with the corresponding numbers while printing.
We recently had to print 500 numbered tickets 8 up on 8.5 x 11. When we took it back to Bindery they would have had to hand collate the tickets back in order after the cut. So we came up with a way that when each stack was cut they would simply be stack on top of each other. We couldn’t figure out a way to add 8 sets of grouped numbers to 8-up layout so I had to go into the txt file and number it manually. It worked fine but took a little time. Is there an option to pull 8 different sets of numbers to one page?

We used to be able to setup the quick print option for picking tickets to allow bin sequence. Now when you pull up quick print setup bin sequenced is greyed out. If you had is setup before and you attempt to change it, bin sequenced goes from available to non available (greyed out). We have never used the advanced picking setup option. We can do bin sequenced when printing the long way…Apparantly you have to have advanced picking setup to do this with quick print.
