Hi Scott, I had a question regarding the sequential numbering Apex example…I am looking to automatically restart the sequence every month, which is not a problem using your example (i.e. changing the year to month in the expression). However, I would also like to add in a condition for year, so that the sequence restarts for each month of each year (i.e. my problem is for example that Feb 2011 last sequence number is 5, and then in Feb 2012 this becomes 6, where I would like it to be 1). I am wondering what the syntax would be. Thanks in advance, Lawn.
My experience with a number of medical device manufacturers has convinced me in the benefits of a “no designation” system. Three designation systems I have worked with have failed. Just recently, one of my customers reported that they ran out of range in their part-numbering format. The system allowed for assigning materials through a two-digit designator within the part number. When the system was designed, needing more than 99 materials was not considered possible. Unfortunately, things changed, and just a few years later, the company needed more than 99 materials causing the existing part number format to fail.
Sometimes, when the user has multiple PDF forms with numerous pages associated with them. Then it becomes difficult for the user to manage the forms in an efficient way. Moreover, it creates a problem for the user to recognize pages & PDF forms from which the pages belong. Thus, it is needed to add page numbers to PDF forms for the easy identification of the PDF forms and pages under them. document numbering
