Warning  Making even minor changes to an outline numbering scheme won’t necessarily change the initial position you’ve selected in the gallery, but rather may create a new gallery position, overwriting an existing one. Also, MS Word does not like when you have too many authors on a document. I have experienced corrupted documents (in Word 2003) in the past when there are too many versions, so the solution is not perfect.

I like keep all changes, and not approving them, because the revision history is important when trying to understand ‘why’… or you can start tracking all the decisions (there seem to be more decisions than requirements).

You may notice that when you are customizing an outline numbered list, you do not have an option to set the value of the Tab that follows the number. You can only choose whether a tab, space, or nothing follows the number.

I have form with 4 text boxes. First txtBox is protocol number (this number consists of two letters, current year and increasing numbers: eg: KU-2013/0001). Next field is date field. Then I have description field (memo) and Operator name (text).

You specify this value so that the system calculates the total number of pages used to print a document. If you do not complete this field, the system uses the value in the Detail Section Total Number of Rows field as the number of rows for the first page.

To make sure people get their prizes, give them lots of room to print their name, address, and phone number. Some people are leery about giving out their address, but do make sure you get a printed name and phone number.

Coding the documents can be accomplished by using either an “image” of the document or the “hard” copy. The advantage of imaging your documents is that the extent of the coding for the documents can be determined as the case progresses. With imaging, you can always retrieve the document, since it is linked to a particular database record for instant viewing. For example, after a document has been provided limited objective coding and the document’s importance has increased as the case progresses, then the document can be immediately accessed on your computer screen to do subjective coding.
