Don’t take our word for it — try the fully functional demo below! You can test all the features of the full version to see how Number Press will work for you but with “Number Press: Unregistered Version” printed in two locations. The full version removes this text.
I already created a background image (in EPS format, which is available to Vector Plus members in the download). Select the Rectangle Frame Tool (F) from the tools palette and drag a rectangle onto the page. Then click Command + D and locate the image (in this case an image that you chose to use as a background for the tickets).
One other thought. It may not hurt to make option 1 a logical expresssion where it will update the number IF a number other than 0 already exists for it. This will prevent it from giving a new number if you go back, edit it and save it. I accomplished this by adding the following (roughly): If PONo=0 Then My.PONo…. (Expression and save command) Else (Save Command)
Click within a text box on a PowerPoint slide. If the slide’s layout does not include a text box, click the “Insert” tab and click “Text Box.” Drag your cursor to draw a text box on the desired part on the slide.

The Number Press Number Assistant is what makes numbering with Number Press so easy. Other numbering programs require you to think hard about what you want, do math, and waste time with trial and error — but not Number Press!
As you’ve seen, the identifier is built using other data besides the sequence number. Since this other data is a part of the record, you don’t want to store this identifier since that means storing the same data twice. That’s why we use an expression to display the identifier rather than store it.
A Sequence field tracks differently numbered lists within a document. Using different sequence fields can give you the ability to print a number of tickets on a page, make a stack of pages, cut the stack into tickets and have the tickets numbered sequentially.
In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to do an easy setup in InDesign for automatically numbered tickets. We will look at the handy “Data Merge Tool,” which is a great time-saver. Let’s jump into this quick tutorial!
Another critical limitation is that at the time e-tickets were initially designed, most airlines still practiced product bundling. By the time the industry began 100% e-ticket implementation, more and more airlines began to unbundle previously included services (like checked baggage) and add them back in as optional fees (ancillary revenue). However, the e-ticket standard did not anticipate and did not include a standardized mechanism for such optional fees.
I answer readers’ questions about Microsoft Office when I can, but there’s no guarantee. When contacting me, be as specific as possible. For example, “Please troubleshoot my workbook and fix what’s wrong” probably won’t get a response, but “Can you tell me why this formula isn’t returning the expected results?” might. Please mention the app and version that you’re using. I’m not reimbursed by TechRepublic for my time or expertise, nor do I ask for a fee from readers. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Now there’s a variety of ways to do this. I’m going to do by the order that I selected the objects. You can see that down here on the command line — the select order. You are going to tell it the number you want it to start with and the increment. We can start with 1 and increment by 1. That sounds easy enough. Now do I want to overwrite the existing text, do I want to do a prefix, suffix — we’ll take a look at various options. I’m going to start by just saying Overwrite. Okay. You can see I got 1, 2, 3, 4. Okay, let’s undo that.
Update the sequence of numbers of copied tickets by highlighting the number and clicking on the right button of your mouse. A drop-down menu will give you the option to update the field and the system will automatically update the number in sequence. Each ticket must be individually updated before printing.
The brackets around the tablename may be confusing Access. If you review the blog you will see I never use brackets for the table name. Other things to check. Is the Sequence control bound to the Sequence field in EvidenceDetail? Is MatterCode a text datatype?
You can also apply numbers by using a menu command. From the Format menu, choose Bullets and Numbering. There are different advantages to both. The following exercises show how to use each method to applying basic numbers to a list.
Other venues: To expand your selling efforts, consider any and every place where there’s a lot of foot traffic. You can sell raffle tickets at church potlucks, outside of convenience stores and drugstores (with permission), and at PTA meetings.
I am trying to do something similar, but more difficult. I need to print a 4 page PDF, it has a number field with a 3 digit number in the corner of the first page. I need the number to increase every time it prints, however, I print many copies at once, sometimes 50 to 100. Is there a way to set it to print that many copies and increase that number after each copy? Ive been trying to figure this out for about a year now, if anyone could help, please let me know.
With this program & Corel DRAW you can engrave and print anything with serial numbers. Serial numbers will be replaced automatically. With this program & Corel DRAW you can engrave and print anything with serial numbers. Serial numbers will be replaced automatically.
I would add some code to test if the “defaultValue” is empty and then add the serial number and if it is not empty then do not update the number. Your source document will have to be saved with the “defaultValue” of the field cleared.

Number Press can create a numbered PDF of 10000 pages in only a couple of minutes on a 2 GHz computer. Even if your computer is five years old, the program can spool far faster than any high-speed laser printer can possibly print. THAT’S FAST!
A sequence is created independently of the tables by using the CREATE SEQUENCE statement. Options enable you to control the increment, maximum and minimum values, starting point, automatic restarting capability, and caching to improve performance. For information about the options, see CREATE SEQUENCE.
In the other tab for the PONum field, I typed in txtPONum as you had mentioned earlier. It is just not generating a number. I don’t even know what question to ask now, ’cause I do not know where this is going wrong. I’ll keep trying something…
Using the current time is certainly going to give us a unique number for the device you are on, but this does not mean that it will be unique across all devices capturing data. First of all, there may be people creating new survey at exactly the same second. If working across multiple time zones, the chances of coincident numbers increase.
I also use InDesign. An Excel file for numbering is easy to create. Then find DataMerge under Automate to link the data file. When you are ready to export, use the create PDF right on the Datamerge window. You can print as cut / stack on the Fiery (or CREO). REMEMBER – if your customer wants them stapled into books of 6 (for example) each stack has to be divisible by 6 if you are going to staple then cut into individual books.
While we can do tickets that are just about any size, our templates measure approximately 2.125″ x 5.5″. Pricing, in the chart above are for tickets of this size. If you need tickets that are larger, the price might vary depending on the size.
Note: These numbers are not automatically updated when you add, move, or remove rows. You can manually update the sequential numbering by selecting two numbers that are in the right sequence, and then dragging the fill handle to the end of the numbered range.
Preventing counterfeits is another major advantage of ordering custom tickets from Admit One Products. From serial numbering to special foil, bar coding, embossing or other unique security features, Admit One Products offers businesses several options that will help increase the security of your paid admissions. Printing event dates, rotating stock colors, changing inks and designs are other security measures to consider.
Layout your ticket in InDesign, one on each page, using the Page Number function to number the tickets. If you have something like Imposer Pro (I know it doesn’t work from InDesign CS3) you can, for instance, impose the pages 4up consecutive and get 4 tickets on an A4. Alternatively, make a PDF of the whole document and impose (manually, if you have to), the advantage here is that this can work as a template for other tickets, simply make a new PDF of the same size and update the PDF in the template document every time you have a new raffle ticket to do.

By clearing the Prefix and Suffix fields and setting the the other options to start at number one we can instruct FileBoss to rename the files by replacing the the name (not the extension) with a serial number.
Scott, I have “txtProject ID#” in the code but the error message replies with highlight of “txtProject” omitting the ID#. I am aware of the # issue. The table field name is PROJECT ID#. The control is a text box of that field name. Is this not the control to use?
