“how to get sequential numbers in word _microsoft word consecutive page numbers”

If you make a list of things you need to do, starting with number 1 and continuing until all your tasks are accounted for, then you’ve made a sequential list. Something that is sequential often follows a numerical or alphabetical order, but it can also describe things that aren’t numbered but still need to take place in a logical order, such as the sequential steps you follow for running a program on your computer.

Basically, the only difference is that we now maintain a VBA.Collection, and this time we do make use of the UniqueKeyVariant parameter, using it as a key to locate the previously assigned number. If we don’t find it, we add to the VBA.Collection. The SQL to use those 2 functions remains identical. The downside is that if the query generates millions worth of rows, the memory may run out due to a large VBA.Collection. However, if a form is bound to that large dataset, it will likely have several other problems anyway so VBA.Collection should not be a problem for forms that loads a few hundred rows. The other downside is that VBA.Collection will persist indefinitely even long after the query has “finished.” Back to form example, you might need to remember to call the ResetRowNumber() function on a form’s close to ensure that you dispose of the VBA.Collection and free up the memory.

Creating numbered tickets in Word can seem difficult or even impossible if you are not familiar with all the capabilities of the Word program. If you have tried going to the Word template section and have been unsuccessful or frustrated with all the options and questions, there is an easier way. The simplest resolution for creating numbered tickets is to find existing templates that can be edited and adjusted to fit your needs.

At this time, decide how many tickets you want to print. You can choose All and print 5,000 or you can choose to print only a certain amount. For instance, you may want to print records 1 to 500 to print only 500 tickets. If you need to print more tickets later, you’ll want to print records 501 to 1,000 to print another 500 tickets.

If you want to add more lines of text under the first line of a numbered paragraph and you would like to line the text up, one solution is to insert a line break. A line break gives you a new line without a new paragraph. In WordPerfect, this is called a soft return. To get a line break, press SHIFT+ENTER.

Start adding some text. Date, time, place, event, etc. Be creative. You can place color boxes behind the text and play with the font sizes. I usually never use more the two fonts, and if I do, I’ll make sure that they are quite the opposite. Pick a font with a big family, meaning lots of weights. Helvetica, DIN or Univers are good choices.

I want to make 300 numbered tickets for an event. The number on one side must match the number on the stub end that is given to the ticket holder. What is the best way to set up a document to do this without having to manually enter 300 numbers?

Remember that you must update the values in the sheet if you want to continue the numbering series with the next batch of tickets. For instance, if you want your next batch of tickets to start with 112, you’d the workbook and change the value 100 to 112, and update the remaining values accordingly. Don’t forget to save the workbook after updating the values.

Finally, though it won’t be required, having a ORDER BY clause is probably going to be very essential. Without an explicit sort applied to query, you might find that sequential numbers are sequential… but to the wrong rows! It’s entirely up to you to define how it should be sorted so the sequential numbers make sense.

So a long time ago, a (ex)coworker gave me a lisp routine. The command in AutoCAD to access it was SEQ. What it did was, say you have a bunch of text, and you need to change them to sequential numbers. You would type SEQ, and it would ask what number to start with. You typed in the number to start with, and then every time you clicked another piece of text, it would change it to the next number in the sequence.

Now each bear not only different numbers but also different format of serial numbers. And later if he wants to find out a particular voucher out of hundreds of vouchers, he will have to check each and every voucher and also he cannot track the existence of each voucher. Why? Because they are not in sequence. So, cashier will give each document his own numberings which can be in any format. Suppose he numbered them as follows:

I have done this twice now, getting flustered. The ticket part the person keeps has the correct sequential number on it, but the side that we keep has the same number on it for the whole page. What part am I missing, at first I did not uncheck the box, but this time I did but have the same number on the stub side that we keep with the person’s name, etc

I’ve managed to edit one using Find and Replace with an { SEQ } field as the replacement to give sequential numbering. This started from 1 which is fine. Subsequent xml’s where I’ve tried to use { SEQ \r n } to get numbering starting from other than 1 results in multiple occurrences of the number as defined by n. It’s this way even after updating the fields.

No, Since you will be starting with a 3 digit number initially, then you don’t need to use the Format function to pad with leading zeros. And since you won’t be using the Format function, then there will be no problem when the number goes to 4 digits.

To select outline numbering without changing the formatting of the paragraph, make sure that you select an outline numbered list that is not linked to the Heading Styles feature. Microsoft strongly recommends using numbering that is linked to styles. For more information on using styles in Word, see the Styles chapter.

Tip  Outlined Numbered Lists give you the option to use numbering and bullets in the same scheme. Select the particular level, and in the Number Style field, scroll down and choose one of the bullet choices for that level.

In the past, I manually prepared a sheet of labels in Microsoft Word, but this was clumsy and time-consuming. Lately, however, I have used a very easy SEQ script that is already available in the program; I just didn’t know it was there.

My issue is trying to create small dot labels or equivalent to make up sequential alpha numeric labels to identify each individual item that I have in my shop, retrospectively. I have possibly 6-8thousand individual items that need coding for stock take purposes yet I can find no outlet that supply such thing. Do you have any suggestions. My line is antiques/collectables, predominantly china with items ranging in size from 2-3cm to 5/600cm. I would be most grateful for any solutions or suggestions. Best regards. Pete.
You may be tempted to place this number on a master page. That would make sense, but there’s a catch: Autonumbered paragraphs on a master page don’t update until you override them. That is, you have to Command/Ctrl-Shift-click on them to make them “kick in” and update to the correct number.
A raffle often involves several different possible prizes that can be won, and a ticket will be drawn from the group at random for each of the prizes. In this manner, people are not buying tickets to win a specific prize, but for the possibility of winning any of the prizes, as the prizes do not have specific numbers attached. A ticket is drawn for the initial prize; that ticket is then left out of the container. A second ticket is then drawn for the next prize, and that ticket also is discarded, and so on. This continues until all prizes have been won.
