If you have already developed a set of specific code numbers that you want to use to track and categorize customer responses, you can type these numbers into a column of the data source that you plan to use for the mail merge.

To get started with a blank template, simply determine the number of rows and columns you want page page. It works rather like the “table” creator on Word. For this example, I a 2×4 (two columns, four rows) layout.

I get an error with this code but it is something I literally copied from a post in this thread where you said it works every time and simply replaced the names of fields and tables with those of my project.

Note this works only because create a brand new table, add an autonumber column to it as well any other columns we need then insert records into it. It’ll be contiguous – as long we don’t delete any records from the table. Unfortunately, creating a brand new table every time we run this will result in bloat of the Access file – if you can do it in a separate Access file, all the better so that you can compact it when you need to.

Since “Boundaries” does exist (it lives in a gdb.) and is a parcel data shape file, “not supported” seems the likely cause.  I double checked the field type and tried short & long integer settings.  I’ve also tried field calculating in and out of an editing session.  And tried editing it as the sole content of a new map.

Note  If TAB and SHIFT+TAB do not work for changing the indents for outline numbering, you probably have the option Tabs and Backspace set left Indent turned off. To change this setting, from the Tools menu, choose Options. Select the Edit tab and check the option Tabs and backspace set left indent. As an alternative to turning this option on, you can instead use ALT+SHIFT+LEFT ARROW or RIGHT ARROW to increase or decrease outline numbering.

If you need to apply numbering within a paragraph rather than to the entire paragraph, you use Word’s ListNum feature. Using the ListNum feature will allow you to take advantage of the numbering system you’re currently using in your document (it will use the one you implemented most recently if you’re not currently using a numbering system). Ok I guess it is better for me to explain what I am doing. I am in the process of creating an Access Database that an individual has been using an Excel spreadsheet forever and a day. Well the individual has on occasion doubled up numbers, forgot numbers, etc. So on what I have learned from different Access courses and Google searches I am trying to apply my knowledge.

Tip  You can always reset your numbering formats back to Word’s defaults by clicking on the Reset button in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box. You will have to reset each numbering scheme individually.

As for that error, you need to find what line of code is generating it. If the error message has a Debug choice use it to see what line of code. If not, you need to step through the code to see where it errors out.

You have a field in your table named sequence? But what is the controlsource of sequence control on the form? It sounds like you didn’t assign that. Also, if this is going to be your transactionID, you shouldn’t have a field in your table as you will be using the expression to display it. Use an AutoNumber for you PK.

I need a for the priority level to automatically adjust when I add or change an item with a new priority level. I might have 6 tasks, each will have a different priority. If I add one and set it to 1, the others need to increment + by one digit. Adding one to the above the highest would see no change in the others. Adding one in the middle would spread the rest apart (e.g. I have a 3, I put a new record and put it at 3, the old 3 becomes 4, and so on (everything below it would increment one digit).

• The numbers have to be random on the raffle tickets for this to work. In order to be sure you have no duplicate (winning) numbers you have to literally write down each number for each raffle ticket (that’s 1000 numbers – a lot of work).

However, when I click on this button in Form view it just makes the number back to 1 instead of adding 1 to the existing records. Is this because when I open the form it brings me to record number 1 and not the last record I entered?

Hi – are you creating your own tickets using the instructions on this page? If so, you can of course change the font and everything else in your Word document. If you are using the Raffle Ticket Creator app (app.raffleticketcreator.com) then you can’t change the font size … you’ll just need to tinker with the exact words that you are including in order to get them to fit on the page. Yes, the controlsource of Sequence is Sequence. I’m not getting any errors, just isn’t populating Sequence at all. I also tried making the controlsource the Sequence field in tblLogRecords, but that didn’t work either and gave me “#Name?” in the form.

J’ai fais une première page avec 4 ticket et des blocs texte numérotés de 001 à 004 puis je suis obligé de dupliquer page par page et modifier un par un les numéros. Il y a certainement une méthode plus rapide et qui évite de tout refaire si erreur.
