I am doing a really big catalog and so am doing a different indesign document for each section. What if for my second section, I want the numbering to start with 200 for exemple (instead of 1)… is that possible?
Unfortunately, InDesign isn’t exactly speedy at updating these numbers when you add a bunch of pages. But it’s not hard to duplicate and reduplicate until you have a thousand or more numbered tickets.

Version control is one of the most critical elements of a document management system because it ensure users always have access to the most current version of a company document. Page numbering is a very useful option, especially when you’re writing bigger documents like essays, dissertations, or books. If you have a table of contents, having your pages numbered can save you (and all other readers) a lot of time and effort in reading around.
The ability to apply formatting with the Selection tools is very powerful, but it’s also slightly dangerous. Let’s say you set a single character to Zapf Dingbats somewhere in your text frame. If you select the text frame using the Selection tool and then apply a new font, every character—including that dingbat—gets changed.
Assuming you know how to add page numbering using the macro, try to add that to a new, empty layer. Then hide that layer on the cover and back pages. I think the result will be what you’re looking for.
To create a custom page-numbering scheme, move the insertion point to the page where you want the page numbering to start, and then choose Format > Page > Numbering > Custom Format to open the Custom Page Numbering dialog box (see Figure 6).

In this situation I would suggest using an Alternate Layout. Once the content is final, choose Create Alternate Layout from the Pages panel menu. Make sure to create the new layout the same size and orientation as the original and then use the Numbering and Section Options dialog to specify the numbering required for the second catalog. The Print dialog will then let you select which layout to print.
If you’re working with long documents http://thedailyrant.net producing EPUBs you’re probably using InDesign’s Book utility to manage your project and breaking the book into multiple InDesign documents. Since Word 2000 applies outline numbering by default, as you press TAB or SHIFT+TAB in a numbered list, you are moved to the next or previous outline level. If you are in a numbered list that has outline numbering generated by the method described in the previous exercise, when you choose Bullets and Numbering from the Format menu (or alternate-click a portion of the numbered list), the Numbered tab appears on the Bullets and Numbering dialog box. However, if you first select the entire list and choose Bullets and Numbering from the Format menu, the Outline Numbered tab from the Bullets and Numbering dialog box is selected.
