Enter the total number of rows that fit in the detail section of a document page, assuming that every page of the document has the same quantity of rows available for printing or the document has just one page. You enter the number of rows so that the system can calculate the total number of pages used to print a document.
If a runtime error happens when you run the program, the numbering data that is being processed might be locked. Further data posting or processing is not allowed. To unlock the data, access lock management on the SAP Easy Access screen under Administration System Administration Monitor Lock Entries . You can also access lock management by starting transaction SM12.
It provides buttons on the Add-Ins tab of the ribbon which can be used to apply numbering in a variety of formats. The ZIP file contains both the template itself and a self extracting archive file which will attempt to load the template in the default Word Startup folder.
Using the instructions in #5, add an incrementing SEQ field. You can highlight any of them, except the reset field. For step 7, enter n}. n is the default switch that inserts the next number in the sequence, making it easy to remember. You don’t have to specify the \n switch, because it’s the default, but you can add it if it helps document your choice.
Should you find a template you like, but need the sequential numbering, you can order those from them, too. You’ll get your tickets in sheets with micro-perforations. Then you can tear them apart like stamps. Have your volunteers assemble them into booklets and you’re ready to go.
For other Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, etc,etc i used a 5 digit number/1 letter prefix starting from 00001 then just carried on as events demanded. Never likely to be (numerically) exceeded IMO.
InDesign allows you to add a page number marker to a master page within the document. The master page functions as a template for every page it’s applied to, so the consecutive page numbers appear on every page. InDesign updates the page number automatically as you insert, delete and move pages. To add a page number marker to a master page, create a text box on the master page by going to the Type menu and choosing “Insert Special Character,” “Markers” and then “Current Page Number.”
I’m not sure which version of InDesign first introduced printing Thumbnails like this, but even if yours doesn’t support that, your printer driver may have a similar feature of its own. Check the printer’s own dialog box by clicking “Setup…” near the bottom left corner of the Print dialog and dismissing the warning, then clicking “Preferences…” in Windows’s Print dialog that comes up (I’m not sure how to access this on Mac OS X, but I’m pretty sure there’s an easy way). For instance, on many HP printers, the feature you want is called “Pages per sheet” and has a drop-down offering 1, 2, 4, 9, or 16 pages per sheet.
Note: If you’re editing a document in a web browser using Word Online, you can’t start page numbering with a different number. If you have the desktop version of Word, you can make changes to your document in the desktop app by clicking Open in Word. If you don’t have Word, you can try or buy it in the latest version of Office now.
2. Check the existing document for prepopulated ticket numbers. Some Publisher templates include these. Click any numbered box to enable it, then click the “Delete” key to remove it, as you want to start your own sequence. Scroll through any other pages that may have been included with the template, and remove all of the sequenced numbers.
1. Start Microsoft Publisher. Click inside the small field with the magnifying glass in the middle of the Available Templates page, then type “tickets” and click the magnifying glass icon. Review the Publisher ticket options, then double-click a template, such as “Raffle Ticket,” to open the design in the Publisher window.

Click Customize. Level 1 should be selected. If not, select level 1 from the Level area. Figure 4 shows the Customize Outline Numbered List that is used to change number formatting, such as indents, tabs, and numbering styles.
In many cases, when you switch to a different numbering format, you want to restart the page numbering at the same time. To restart page numbering, position the insertion point, choose Format > Page > Numbering, and then click the Set Value button to open theValues dialog box (see Figure 3). Notice that you can use this dialog box to restart numbering for pages, chapters, volumes, and secondary pages. Type the new page number in the Set Page Number text box, and choose OK.
Position the insertion point where you want the page number to appear and then choose Type in the menu bar followed by Insert Special Character > Markers > Current Page Number. A placeholder appears on the master page in place of the number.
We are now going to create the adjacent page number. However we need to switch back to the selection tool first (Escape + V). In my document I have set the left hand page up first. So, instead of going through the steps again, to place the right hand number we will simply copy (Command + C) and paste (Command + V) the text box you have just formatted.

To create a custom page-numbering scheme, move the insertion point to the page where you want the page numbering to start, and then choose Format > Page > Numbering > Custom Format to open the Custom Page Numbering dialog box (see Figure 6).
I made a point of numbering all my documents by order of their place in the quality manual. For example, Section 8 is Vehicle Management and the first document in this chapter is the Company Vehicle Policy. Thus Doc 8.1- Company Vehicle Policy, 8.2- Vehicle Cleaning Procedure etc…. Auditors enjoy this way of doing things as they can say “can I see your policy on cleaning vehicles” and you can find it within seconds. Ultimately this is YOUR numbering system so doing it in a way that enables you to understand it clearly is the most important thing.
I currently have a LISP routine that will replace the value of a specific attribute name with sequential numbers in the order that the blocks are selected. Like TCOUNT for attributes – and it only looks for a specific attribute Tag Name called “ID”.
Thank you so much for your response! I will fiddle with it later today and I will tell you if this works or not. Whenever I tried to go to page numbering and set it, I selected all of the pages, so I don’t know if this messed it up.
I have a job that requires me to make a serial number for each part. There is 480 parts per tray, 2400 parts a week and somehow 19,000 parts a month. So I need to find a way to have a sequence of numbers that increase by one without manually having to input each number each time before a print.
This kind of template is very easy and fast for creating a multitude of serialized tickets. You don’t have to change each number or manually update each field. That’s far too tedious. The lottery might be over before you’re done.
You appear to be using ad blocking software. While I respect your right to do so, please be aware that the minimal advertising on this site helps defray the cost of providing this facility, and I would therefore ask that you turn off the blocker while browsing this site.
Edit: It is fairly easy to write a macro to refresh links to pages, but links to bookmarks seem to be poorly supported by the object model, unless I’ve overlooked something. My solution consists of two parts.
You set up legal document types to specify how the system handles taxes for a type of document, whether the system must print the document on one page, and whether multiple payment terms are allowed for a document. You use the Legal Document Types program (P7400002) to associate the legal document types that you create with the legal document type groups that exist in the Legal Document Type Group (74/DG) UDC table.
Let’s move on to the Subhead 1 style. Note the same list name (FM Numbering), the level designation (now it’s a 2), the number (^H.^2.^t) and that restart numbers at this level is on after any previous level.
To add a new master page, click the “Add Master Page” button in the “Master Page” button group to open the “New Master Page” dialog box. In this dialog box, you can enter an identifier for the master page into the “Page ID (1 character):” text box. Typically, master pages simply are identified in alphabetical order. You can then enter a description of the master page into the “Description:” text box. If you want to create a two-page master page, then check the “Two-page master” checkbox.
You can customize a master page by first selecting it in the Navigation Pane. You can then add any content that you want show in your publication pages by default into the selected master page. This is a great place to add building block content you want to have displayed on your pages. You can also apply any other design items to publication pages that are associated with the selected master page. Note that this content cannot be edited when applied to the actual pages in your publication. However, it is an excellent place to insert content that will not change, such as page numbers, design elements, and custom header and footer information.
If you need to apply numbering within a paragraph rather than to the entire paragraph, you use Word’s ListNum feature. Using the ListNum feature will allow you to take advantage of the numbering system you’re currently using in your document (it will use the one you implemented most recently if you’re not currently using a numbering system). The ListNum Field is available in Word 97 and later and interacts with multi-level list numbering (which should be linked to styles as set forth here). Here is a brief explanation of differences between the ListNum field and the Seq field.
In addition to the formal numbering / Versioning solutions the software provides there is near infinite numbering / Versioning possibilities using metadata fields. Metadata fields are flexible, controllable and http://ringringpromotions.org to allow users to create numbering schemes they may require. One possible use of metadata field numbering would be to store unique document numbers that might have been inherited from a legacy document management or even paper based filing system. By replicating these numbers in the document management software metadata fields, users can continue to search and find their documents based on the numbering scheme from a previous system.
Assigning a unique document number or ID to each document as it is first saved is a fundamental aspect of any serious document management system. SharePoint has been able to assign unique Document IDs since SharePoint 2010. Unfortunately the OOB Unique Document Numbering that comes OOB with SharePoint 2010 and 2013 does not work the way that users expect, based on their previous experience with a non-SharePoint ‘traditional’ DM system.
